The Challenge

It’s time to dress the streets of the City of Logan in readiness for the Commonwealth Games.

Rather than simply watching the Games, celebrate this once in a life time event by dressing your home, neighbourhood or business.

The Games are expected to bring thousands of visitors to our city as they make their way to the various sporting venues. Let’s put our best foot forward and dress our homes and our streets to path their way.

On April 1, the Queen’s Baton Relay will make its way through the city before heading to the Gold Coast for the opening ceremony of the Games. All eyes will be on Daisy Hill, Shailer Park and Beenleigh as it winds its way through. If your home or business is on the route, get into the spirit and make your home part a colourful backdrop for the relay.

You could go green and gold, use the colours of your heritage or purchase a celebration pack with Commonwealth Games collateral including bunting, posters and flags.

There are some excellent prizes on offer – Take a snap and post on social media with #LifeinLogan to enter the competition.

The best dressed house receives $250 and best dressed business $250.

Mention your suburb to help us select the best neighbourhood in the city. Bragging rights for the best dressed neighbourhood will go to the suburb with the most unique entries.

  1. DRESS your home, unit or business
  2. Take a SNAP
  3. Post on social with HASHTAG #lifeinlogan

Materials & removal

Please ensure that your decorations are tasteful and in the spirit of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.  Materials should be non-toxic, safe for the environment and not cause a safety hazard or nuisance to the community.  At the completion of the Commonwealth Games on 15 April, we ask that you remove any decorations that you installed on street trees or infrastructure in a responsible manner.
